You're not for sure even though I wanna take you everywhere I go

26th February 2009

"... All steady up in the club, just swagging doing my thang
Popping bottles with models and just watching them drank
Partying so hard, the ladies don't want it to end
They looked at me and said, I heard that you're a HEARTBREAKER?..."

Owh you sure darn right, I AM!
Right RS?

Pro vs Cons: Stay or go?

Currently Listening To : Disney OST - You've Got A Friend In Me

Today’s Discrete Math class got me thinking, of how to weight my options on whether or not I should stay or leave – for the better. However, after giving some serious consideration for 2 weeks now, I figured I needed a lil’ more input? Obviously, I would love to hear from you guys, too. Thus, I would really appreciate if you could let me know what you think of my idea?

Stay at OC

Pros:
• Better study environment
• More “relational” study between lecturer and student
• Faith based curriculum
• Closer social relationship
• Higher local job opportunity
• Good scholarship deal (need to work)

Cons:
• Distractions from various output affect grades
o Talon
o Social
o Possibly RA, too?
• Blooming school fees with continuous fall-back on Ringgit Malaysia
o Work – study is not an option as work = time

I have to say that even though I’m getting scholarship from various sources, it requires time and effort – as much as I enjoyed it. Through recent weeks, I believe the effort and time spent I put into all that “distractions” are somehow affecting my grades and I’m not exactly sure if it’s a good thing as the fact remain that – it is NOT part of my major.

Transfer to OSU

Pros:
• Slightly cheaper tuition fees – without working + academic scholarship
• Better job opportunity internationally (common “bigger school = more prestige” concept)
• More freedom (implication of independent)
• More focus (not much distraction – in terms of working while studying)
• Bigger school – experience more about LIFE.

Cons:
• Exposed to all sort of social temptations
• Transportation issue – too big of a town
• Minimal spiritual influence
• Non-transferable Bible credits
• Almost as if starting from scratch (socially & academically)

To begin with, it’s my initial plan to transfer at my junior year. However, not all plans are perfect. As soon as I know that some of my credits are not transferable, I had to act quickly and that just means now. Financial issue is probably my primary goals. Not that I'm poor or anything close to that, but I believe if I have a chance to achieve my full degree abroad, my younger brother - Julian - should equally have the same opportunity given when the time comes.

Anyways, I’ve to admit that I’m very much torn between the 2 as life at OC is just unexpectedly good! Everyday is a good day despite the pressure. The people you’re with are just encouraging in everyway. Not to mention the spirit and willingness to assist and help is simply remarkable - people from Wishing Well to Outreach to people from MMRC. All I’m saying is… I’m content and it sure seems like I don’t feel like leaving the comfort zone.

I’ve more or less made my choice but until I’m done thinking, I believe there’s a likelihood that I might just go.

I would love to know what your thoughts are and whether or not my perception is right. As again, before I came to OC, I never imagined what it might be. So, with that being said, I’m leaving room for doubts and who knows, things might turn out positively OR negatively unexpectedly?
